What is Bonzaii?

Bonzaii is a product management tool. It keeps one connected picture of your product: what it does today (Features), what you plan to build (Solutions), when you'll build it (Planning), what went out (Delivery), and why (Evidence and Discovery).
Everything links together, so you can follow any item back to the user need or problem behind it, and forward to the release that shipped it.

Question 2

Your first steps

Accepted Answer

1. Create a product. Use New in the sidebar, then Product. Pick Traditional if you track work by hand, or AI builder if you build with a tool such as Lovable, Cursor or Claude Code.
2. Add your features. Describe what the product does today in the Feature Tree. See Feature.
3. Capture evidence. Add insights and problems, or share the public feedback form. See Capture feedback.
4. Add solutions. Write down what you might build, and give each one a type. See Solution and its types.
5. Plan a quarter. Pick the solutions you'll do this quarter. See Plan a quarter.
6. Ship a release. Group solutions into a release, check readiness, and ship it. See Ship a release.
Tip: the assistant can do most of these for you. Ask it "help me set up my product".

Question 3

Impact and Health scores

Accepted Answer

Bonzaii uses two kinds of score: Impact (how much value for the effort) and Health (how well something is doing). There is no RICE or ICE score.
Every score input is rated 1 to 5.
Impact score — features (Feature impact)
(User impact × User reach × Business impact) ÷ (Delivery effort × Maintenance effort)
A missing maintenance effort counts as 1. If impact, reach, business impact or delivery effort is missing, there's no score. Scores range from 0.04 to 125.
Impact score — solutions (Solution impact)
(User impact × User reach × Business impact × Confidence) ÷ Delivery effort
All five inputs are needed. Scores range from 0.2 to 625.
Feature impact vs Solution impact
Where features and solutions appear together (for example in Planning), their scores are labelled Feature impact and Solution impact. They are not on the same scale:
- Feature impact rates something that already exists or is planned as a whole, and includes the maintenance effort of keeping it. It ranges from 0.04 to 125.
- Solution impact rates one piece of work you might build, and includes your confidence that it will work. It ranges from 0.2 to 625.
So a solution scoring 50 isn't "worth less" than a feature scoring 60. Compare them by their category (Exceptional to Minimal), which uses each one's own range.
Linked research marked Contradicts appears as a study count beside Feature impact. Under Solution confidence, the count suggests considering lower confidence. These warnings never change your score inputs automatically.
Impact category
The score is placed on a log scale between the lowest and highest possible score, then labelled Exceptional, High, Medium, Low or Minimal. Products use the feature range; releases use the solution range.
Example: a solution with impact 4, reach 4, business impact 3, confidence 4 and effort 2 scores 4 × 4 × 3 × 4 ÷ 2 = 96, which is High.
Product Impact
The average of each input over the product's live features that have scoring on, put through the feature formula. It's not the average of the features' scores.
Feature Health (0–100)
Starts at 100. Minus 20 for each open critical problem linked to the feature, minus 10 for each open high-severity one. Minus 25 if the feature hasn't been updated for 90 days (or minus 10 after 30 days). It's calculated once a day and shown in the feature's Scoring trend.
Product Health (0–100)
An even mix of four parts: features (Product Impact), delivery pace, open problems, and key results completed. Above 80 is Excellent, above 60 Good, above 40 Needs attention, otherwise Critical.

Question 4

Readiness

Accepted Answer

An item is Ready when no open task (to do or in progress) is linked to it as blocking. Every task type counts: design, build, decision, QA, launch and other.
Some items have extra rules:
- Release — also waits for every solution in it to be Ready.
- Quarter — also waits for every solution in it to be Ready.
- Discovery — "Ready to conclude" also needs every research question answered and a decision recorded.
- Product — shows the share of live, draft and unreleased features that are Ready.
The readiness pill says how many things are still in the way, for example "2 blockers · 1 open task · 1 solution not ready". Click it to see them.
Release complete %
(Ready solutions + done release tasks) ÷ (solutions + release tasks). A release is at risk when it's overdue, or 14 days or fewer away and under 50% complete.

Blocking vs linked tasks

A task can be attached to an item in two ways:
- Blocks readiness of — the item isn't Ready until this task is done or marked won't do. Use it for work that must finish before shipping.
- Linked items — a reference only. It shows up on the item, but never changes its readiness.
Example: "Write release notes" blocks readiness of release R-004. "Competitor teardown" is linked to the same release for context.
You can move a link between the two from the task's panel. Only features, solutions, releases, quarters and discoveries can be blocked. Tasks suggested by AI reviews are always added as linked, so a suggestion never makes an item look unready.

Question 6

Statuses and automatic changes

Bonzaii keeps statuses consistent for you.
Features
- Paused, Removed or Draft on a parent feature also applies to all its children.
- A feature can only be Live if every feature above it is Live. When you set one Live, you can choose which children come back too.
- On an AI builder product, features go Live when a publication ships them, not by hand.
Products
Changing a product's status asks whether to change its features too: none, a selection, or all.
Solutions follow their releases
- All active releases Shipped → the solution is Delivered.
- All releases Cancelled → Abandoned (you're asked first).
- Any mix → Planned. Adding a solution to a planned release makes it Planned.
- Delivered is final.
Releases
Releases are never shipped automatically when their date passes. You'll be asked to confirm on your next visit. A release only becomes Shipped through the ship action. See Ship a release.

Question 7

History, undo and comments

Accepted Answer

- History — every item, product and workspace has a History of what changed, when, who did it and where it came from (you, a teammate, the assistant or your AI builder). Filter it by type, person or date, then Load more for older entries.
- Undo — deleting, moving or changing the status of something shows a short "Undo" message at the bottom of the screen for 8 seconds.
- Comments — comment on any item and @mention teammates. Mentions show up in their Activity.

Feature

A feature is something your product can do. Features sit in a tree, so "Account" can contain "Profile" and "Sign-in methods".
Statuses: Draft, Unreleased, Live, Paused, Removed.
Each feature has a hub with what it does, why it exists, its acceptance criteria, scores, linked evidence and needs, tasks and History. The Improvements section lists Improvement and Cross-cutting solutions affecting the feature. Created by shows the New feature solution that created it.

Using the Feature Tree

- Features — a table you can filter, sort and choose columns for. Your column choice is remembered.
- Tree — a visual tree of your features. Drag a feature onto another to move it under it.

Question 10

AI mode on the product maps

Accepted Answer

Turn on AI mode on the Feature Tree or the Product structure. A review panel opens beside the map.
Feature Tree. Bonzaii calculates measures for every branch (each top-level feature, and each deeper feature with children): size, solutions planned, in progress and shipped, readiness, evidence, importance and impact, last change, and features with no screen. Each branch then gets one or more labels, compared with the other branches in this product:
- Focus here — important, but readiness is weak, little has shipped recently or open problems point at it.
- Under-developed — important, but few child features or solutions compared with similar branches.
- Over-developed — many features or a lot of recent investment, but low importance or impact, or no evidence.
- Unresearched — no linked insights, research or discoveries, or most features have none.
- Blocked — blocking tasks hold back a large share of its features.
- Stale — nothing changed or shipped for 6 months.
- Healthy — none of the above.
The panel shows a summary, the branches to focus on with a next step, readiness, a Balance section and a level view. Click a branch on the tree to see why it got its labels and what you can do: create a solution, add research or a discovery, open Readiness, and add a feature (or, in AI builder products, report a mapping issue).
Product structure. Lists screens with no features, features with no screen, journeys with gaps, and screens linked to blocked or unresearched features.
The AI only writes the wording; it can't add numbers or verdicts. If a branch lacks scores it says "Not enough data". Each review uses 2 credits, is charged only when it succeeds, and is kept for 24 hours — use refresh to run it again.

Question 11

Product maps and user journeys

A Product map is a canvas of your product's screens and actions as cards, joined by links. Cards can be linked to features and solutions.
A user journey is a path through those cards. Each step can hold jobs-to-be-done details: functional, emotional and social job, motivation, pain points and emotions. Mark the critical steps as Moments of truth.
Diagrams are free canvases for flows, architecture or processes, which you can also link to features and solutions.
Create and build a journey
- New journey asks for a name and an optional description. You add steps afterwards.
- The step list is the journey. Add, rename, reorder (drag the grip) and remove steps there.
- Place a step on a screen with the link button on the step. The path on the map is drawn from the steps that sit on screens, in step order. Steps outside the product (an email, a call) stay in the list without a screen.
- Each step on a screen shows that screen's features.
- A journey with no steps on screens shows nothing on the map, and its panel says so.
- Rename a journey by clicking its name in the Library panel or the map panel.

Question 12

Solution and its types

Accepted Answer

A solution is something you plan to build. Solutions make up your backlog.
Statuses: Not planned, Planned, Delivered, Abandoned. They follow the releases the solution is in. See Statuses and automatic changes.
Types
- New feature — creates a new feature when it ships.
- Improvement — changes an existing feature.
- Cross-cutting — touches several features at once.
- Not typed yet — still an idea. It can't be planned, delivered or added to a release until you pick a type.
What happens when it ships
- New feature: the new feature inherits the solution's links (KPIs, needs, segments, research), acceptance criteria, scores, notes and History.
- Improvement / Cross-cutting: the affected features get a History entry; their links stay as they are.
Solutions are ranked by their Impact score.

Question 13

Quarter

Accepted Answer

A quarter groups the solutions you plan to deliver in a period. It has objectives with key results, and can point at the product's North Star KPI ("This quarter's North Star").
- Key result progress = current ÷ target, capped at 100%.
- Quarter completion = delivered solutions ÷ all solutions in the quarter.
- Days left counts calendar days to the quarter's end.
A quarter is Ready when no open task blocks it and every solution in it is Ready. See Readiness.
Edit quarter details
Fields, North Star text, KPI links and dashboard links remain unsaved until you choose Save changes. The fields scroll when needed, while Cancel and Save changes stay at the bottom. Closing with unsaved edits asks Discard your changes? Choose Keep editing to return or Discard changes to leave without saving.
Share quarters across products
Workspace admins can opt in from Settings → Workspaces → Share quarters across products for the selected workspace. New workspaces start with sharing off. Turning it on opens Merge quarters so you can review and adjust the proposed groups before confirming; each group can contain only one quarter per product. Turning sharing off asks for confirmation and restores each product's quarters with their items, phases and order. Switching the setting is recorded in History.

Question 14

Plan a quarter

Accepted Answer

1. Open Planning and choose Quarters. Create the quarter if it doesn't exist yet.
2. Add one to three objectives with measurable key results.
3. Open the backlog and drag items into the quarter, or open a Feature, Solution or Discovery hub’s header menu and choose Add to…. Search the Open quarters and pick the existing quarter you want. Closed quarters aren't offered. Choosing a different quarter moves the item's placement there.
4. Rank them. The quarter plan is shared with everyone in the workspace and # is the position within its quarter. The Impact score helps, but you decide the order.
5. Group them into releases. See Release.
Tip: only typed solutions can be planned. "Not typed yet" ideas stay in the backlog until you give them a type.
The timeline view shows quarters and releases on a calendar.
In Objectives, drag an objective by its grip to put it above or below another objective. All key-result rows temporarily fold away while dragging and return when you drop or cancel, following your Show Key Results setting. Key results stay with their parent objective. Dropping on a quarter header puts the objective first in that quarter. You can also focus the objective grip and use the up and down arrow keys.
Shared order
Workspace admins can use Import browser plan once, before a shared plan exists, to bring across a previously saved browser order. Confirmation is required; it is never imported automatically.
Use Order this quarter by impact to preview a quarter’s new order and confirm it for everyone. Features and solutions use different impact scales, so each type is ordered within its own positions. Unscored items go last within their type. Undo restores the previous order; changes are recorded in History. If someone else changes the plan before your save, reload the shared plan rather than overwriting their changes.

Question 15

Strategy canvases

Strategy canvases live in Planning → Strategy. Use them to lay out your strategic themes and link them to objectives, features and solutions.
Templates include the Impact map and the Solution tree (Outcome → Opportunity → Solution → Experiment). In the Solution tree, "Opportunity" is its own step of the framework.

How prioritisation works

Where to find it
Prioritisation is under Planning → Prioritisation. It is available on every product. It never changes the Impact score, Backlog rank or quarter plan order.
Choose a list in the collapsible left panel, or create one with the + next to its search box. The panel also lets you edit a list, or delete it after confirming; deleting a list keeps its items and their shared values.
1. Gather candidates
In New list, Start with can be an Empty list or Items planned in a quarter. Picking a quarter is a one-time fill: later changes to that quarter don't update the list. Lists don't stay linked to a quarter.
Add more at any time with Add items:
- Add existing opens the picker (Solutions, Features and Discoveries).
- Items planned in a quarter adds that quarter's items that aren't in the list yet.
- Add new solution and Add discovery show an empty row in the table. Type the name and press Enter: it's created on this product and added to the list. New solutions are filled in automatically in the background, like other quick adds. The row appears at the bottom, or at the top when the list is sorted by Manual order (the new item goes first).
Other new items go to the bottom of the manual order. Clicking an item name opens its hub.
From a Feature, Solution or Discovery hub, open the header’s … menu and choose Add to…. Search and pick a Prioritisation table or an Open quarter in that item's product. Tables already containing the item are marked and cannot be added twice. Adding to a table doesn't change its quarter or Backlog rank. Only destinations your access allows are offered; table additions aren't available on phones.
Sections
Lists don't have phases. To split a list into sections (for example Now, Next, Later), create a Pills field with one pill per section, then choose it in Group by. Each pill becomes a section. While sorted by Manual order, drag an item into another section to change its pill, with Undo. Items with several pills appear in each section.
2. Assess with fields
The + at the table's right edge or Columns → Add new column creates a field. Number, Text and Pills fields are shared product fields: their values reappear in other lists of the same product. Text is descriptive and never scored. Pills count their highest value by default, or Add values up. Click a field cell to assess it. The field editor's Save button becomes available only after a change.
Status cells use the normal item status controls and their confirmation rules; Quarter cells offer open quarters. These edits change the actual item, not just this list. Calculated and linked fields are read-only.
Manage shared fields in Settings → Product dimensions. Archived fields disappear from lists and pickers, and stop counting in their scores, but keep their assessed values and saved weight configuration. Open the archived field in Settings and choose Restore field to make it available again. Admins and Builders can Delete permanently after typing its exact name: this removes all its values and all list/score references, with no recovery. Options already chosen on items can't be deleted until those choices are cleared. Fields can link to an Objective or KPI.
3. Rank
- Score is worked out from the fields you weight. Until a field has a weight, the Score column says No weighted fields yet. Click the Score heading's settings icon to open Score weights.
- Score weights lets you tick fields, including Impact (relative), and give each a weight from 1 to 5; percentages are calculated for you. Arrows show how items would move. Save keeps them for everyone viewing the list; Reset goes back to the saved weights. The field list scrolls while Save and Reset stay visible.
- Sort contains Sort by and Then by, including Score, Name and Manual order.
- Manual order is a sort option. Each list has its own manual order, shared by everyone viewing that list and separate from Backlog rank. Drag rows by the handle, or use the up and down arrow keys, while sorted by Manual order.
- The # column follows the current sort. Items with the same value share a rank.
How Score is worked out
Every input is first turned into a 0–1 value so fields with different scales count fairly: Number fields use their range (for example 0–10, so 5 becomes 0.5), Pills use the highest possible pill value (or the largest possible total with Add values up), and Impact (relative) is divided by 100. The values are then weighted, so Score runs from 0 to 100 and each field's percentage is its real share.
An optional divide by field is turned into 0–1 the same way and the score is divided by it, so a divided score can go above 100. Values outside a Number field's range are refused; older Number fields without a range show Range needed until someone sets one. A blank input, a missing range or dividing by zero leaves the item unassessed, shown as —. Inputs that don't apply to an item are skipped.
The Impact column shows the real Impact score, the same as the item hub. Impact (relative) is used only inside the Score calculation: it ranks features and solutions within their own type in this product, from 0 to 100; ties share a value and a single scored item is 100. Discoveries have no Impact. It only counts in Score if you weight it.
Click a score to open Why: each raw value, its 0–1 value, the points it adds out of 100, and how the divisor was used. Impact also shows the raw hub value and the percentage of assessed same-type items with a lower Impact (for example, “Impact 12 · higher than 30% of this product's features”). This explanation counts items; the existing relative scoring formula is unchanged.
Notes and row actions
The note icon opens a note below the item, shared with its quarter-plan note. The … menu offers Remove from this list, which keeps the item and its values, and Delete item permanently where your item permissions allow it. Permanent deletion asks for confirmation and deletes the item across the product. Features, solutions and discoveries currently have no Recently deleted recovery; notes and files use their existing recovery where supported. AI-builder features cannot be deleted by hand.
Who can do what
Admins, Builders and Contributors can create lists and fields and assess items. Only admins and Builders can rename, archive, restore or permanently delete fields. List editing never grants extra permission to delete underlying items. People with read-only access can only view. Lists are read-only on phones.
Search, hidden fields, grouping and sorting are your own view. The Columns button shows, hides and reorders fields; showing a field not yet in the list adds it for everyone. Export is available.
4. Commit (coming next)
Adding your top items to a quarter or to Backlog rank is coming next. It will ask which quarter to use at that time.

Question 17

Release

Accepted Answer

A release is a set of solutions that ship together.
Statuses: Not planned, Planned, Shipped, Cancelled.
- The countdown shows whole calendar days to the planned date, and goes negative when late.
- A release is Ready when no open task blocks it and every solution in it is Ready. See Readiness.
- Cancelling a release asks whether to mark its solutions Abandoned.
- Features marked "to be removed" in a release only become Removed when it ships.
Delivery → Shipped lists every release that went out and what it delivered. On AI builder products, releases also collect publications.

Question 18

Publication

Accepted Answer

A publication is one publish of an AI builder product, recorded by your AI builder connection. Each publication is attached to a release and lists what changed.
Publications are written by the system; you can't create or edit them by hand. On AI builder products, a feature goes Live when a publication ships it.

Question 19

Ship a release

Accepted Answer

1. Open the release from Delivery.
2. Check the readiness pill. Open it to see any open blocking tasks or solutions that aren't Ready.
3. Finish or re-plan what's left. Move a solution to another release if it won't make it.
4. Press Ship.
What happens next:
- The release becomes Shipped.
- Its solutions become Delivered, unless they're still in another active release.
- New feature solutions create their features; Improvements add a History entry to the features they change. See Solution and its types.

Question 20

Files and storage

Attach files to features, solutions, releases, discoveries, Library items, tasks, objectives, journeys and whiteboards, or see them all in Settings → Files. Detail panels have an Attachments section at the bottom with the same upload, existing-file linking and viewing options as hubs.
Files you can upload
Bonzaii checks each file the moment you pick it, before anything is sent, and tells you straight away if it can't be uploaded.

HEIC and HEIF photos are converted to JPEG before upload. The JPEG is stored and counts towards storage; both the original and converted photo must fit the file size limit. If a photo cannot be converted, nothing is uploaded.
Not accepted: programs and scripts, files with no type, and SVG (it can carry code — export as PNG).
Each file can be up to 500 MB. Empty files can't be uploaded.
What counts towards storage
Your workspace includes 50 GB. Storage used in Settings → Files counts everything Bonzaii keeps for your files:
- the current version of each file,
- older versions kept after you replace or compress a file,
- preview images and thumbnails,
- files deleted in the last 30 days (they can still be restored).
Uploading the same file twice stores it once.
Delete and restore a file
Deleting a file removes it from every place it was attached, so no item is left showing a broken preview. Only Builders, Contributors and admins can delete files.
To bring it back within 30 days:
1. Open Settings → Files.
2. Scroll to Recently deleted files.
3. Click Restore.
The file goes back to every place it was attached, unless that item has since been deleted. After 30 days a deleted file can't be restored.

Question 21

Task

Accepted Answer

A task is a piece of work. Tasks are linked to the items they help ship.
Statuses: To do, In progress, Done, Won't do. Done and Won't do keep their closing date; reopening clears it.
- Assign a task to a person, or leave it in the pool for a job function (for example Design) so anyone in that role can pick it up.
- Each task has a type: design, build, decision, QA, launch or other.
- Due dates show the year when they aren't this year.
A task can block an item or just be linked to it. See Blocking vs linked tasks.

Question 22

Use tasks and readiness

Accepted Answer

1. Open Tasks. The Tasks tab shows all tasks; Filters lets you narrow by status, type, person and the Created or Completed date.
2. Open Readiness to see every feature, solution, release, quarter and discovery that isn't Ready, and what blocks it.
3. Click an item's blockers to open the tasks, then finish them or mark them Won't do.
Tip: ask the assistant "what's waiting on me?" — it lists your own tasks and those in your team's pool separately.

Question 23

Evidence

Accepted Answer

Evidence is what you've learned from users and the market:
- Insight — a learning, for example "Teams export to spreadsheets every Friday".
- Problem — a pain point, with a severity (critical, high, medium, low) and a status.
Link evidence to features, solutions and discoveries so every decision can be traced back. Open critical and high problems lower Feature Health.
Research is how you learned it (interviews, surveys, experiments). Each research link says whether it supports, contradicts or is neutral. Research that contradicts something never counts as support: on evidence cards it lowers the confidence instead, and the card says so, for example "1 contradicting study".
Patterns are the cards AI mode adds at the top of the Evidence tab: groups of research, insights and problems the AI found pointing the same way. Nothing in a pattern exists in your library until you add it.
To add something new, click New …, give it a name, and Bonzaii warns you if something similar is already in your library before creating it.

Question 24

Discovery

Accepted Answer

Discovery is two things: the research area in the sidebar, and one time-boxed discovery — an investigation into a question.
A discovery has research questions, hypotheses, the evidence it collects, and finally a decision. It's Ready to conclude when no open task blocks it, every research question is answered and a decision is recorded.
Once decided, a discovery can't be edited unless you clear the decision first. Its outcomes can become solutions.
Investigate lists the items related to a discovery, so you can see what's already known. It doesn't calculate anything.
A discovery's confidence is set by hand by its team. Bonzaii doesn't calculate it from the evidence.
When you link research to a discovery, choose whether it Supports, Contradicts or is Neutral to it, as you do for insights, problems, features and solutions. You can change it from the discovery's Evidence tab or from the research item.

Question 25

Capture feedback

Accepted Answer

1. By hand — add an insight or problem from Discovery or the Library.
2. Public feedback form — share the form's link with customers, early testers or teammates. Anyone can send feedback without an account; it arrives as evidence.
3. From your tools — connect tools such as Zendesk, Intercom or Slack to send feedback straight in.
4. Import — paste notes or upload a file, and AI turns it into insights and problems for you to review.
Then link the new evidence to the features or solutions it's about. See Evidence.

Question 26

The Library

Accepted Answer

Each product has a Library of supporting items: insights, problems, research, user segments, user needs, business needs, KPIs, competitors, dashboards and other items.
- User segment — a group of users, for example "Power users".
- User need — what a segment wants to achieve.
- Business need — what the business needs from the product.
- KPI — a metric you track. One can be the product's North Star.
Link them to features and solutions so you can see who each one serves and why. Items of the same type can be merged.

Question 27

KPI and product frameworks

Accepted Answer

- HEART — Happiness, Engagement, Adoption, Retention, Task success. Tag KPIs with a HEART category.
- AARRR — Acquisition, Activation, Retention, Referral, Revenue.
- Jobs-to-be-done — functional, emotional and social jobs, used on features, needs and journey steps.
- Kano — basic, performance and delight needs.
- Custom categories — add your own groupings, such as "Leading vs lagging", next to HEART and AARRR.
KPIs have no calculated score; Bonzaii reminds you when one hasn't been updated for 30 days.

Question 28

Notes

Accepted Answer

Notes are rich-text documents for meeting notes, specs or anything else. Link a note to the features, solutions or other items it's about, and it shows up on their hubs.
Open Notes in the sidebar to see every note for the product, or across all products.
Restore a deleted page
Deleting a page (or a folder) doesn't remove it straight away. It moves to Recently deleted, at the bottom of the page list, for 30 days.
1. Open the Notes where the page was — the main Notes section or the item's Notes tab.
2. Open the page list with Pages, scroll to the bottom and open Recently deleted.
3. Click Restore next to the page. A folder comes back with everything that was in it.
If the folder the page was in has also been deleted, the page comes back at the top of the list. After 30 days a deleted page is gone for good. Comments and file links on the page are not brought back.
Good to know
- Export: use Export above a page to download it as PDF, Word (.docx) or Markdown (.md). It works in an item's Notes tab and in the main Notes section, also on phones.
- Phones: notes are read-only on phones for now. Edit on a tablet or desktop.
- Item links (added with "/") always show the item's current name. If the item is deleted, the link turns grey and reads "Deleted item".
- Tables can have up to 20 columns; wide tables scroll sideways.
- Reloading keeps you on the page you were on, and the address can be shared.
- New pages open ready to type, with the cursor in the title.

Question 29

Using Bonzaii on a phone

Accepted Answer

On a phone (a screen under 768 pixels wide) Bonzaii works in three ways:
- Fully usable: Tasks, the Assistant, and the Feature and Solution hubs. You can change status, assign, comment and edit their details.
- Read-only: Planning, Discovery, Delivery, the Features and Solutions tables, Notes and Stats. You can read everything, but the section says "Edit on a tablet or desktop" and its create and bulk buttons are hidden. Opening a feature or solution from these tables still gives you the full hub. In these sections you can't drag items, edit inside a table, rank or ship a release. Export still works.
- Needs a bigger screen: Product maps. On a phone the page shows a short message instead of the map.
Shipping a release is off on phones everywhere, including the release page and its state menu.
On a tablet and a desktop everything works as usual.

Question 30

AI credits

Accepted Answer

Bonzaii is a free passion project, so everything is included. Each workspace gets 1,500 AI credits a month, free. Unused monthly credits don't roll over.
When the allowance runs out
You'll see "You've used this month's free AI allowance. It resets on [date]." The allowance comes back on the 1st of each month. There's no way to buy more.
Limits
- 300 credits per person per day.
- 10,000 credits per workspace per month.
How credits are used
- Each AI action shows how many credits it needs before it runs.
- Credits are only used when the AI answer succeeds.
- Some actions use no credits, such as feature insights.
See your balance and usage under Settings → Workspaces.

Question 31

The assistant

Accepted Answer

The assistant knows your product. Open it from the bubble in the corner, or pin it to the side.
- Ask questions: "Which features have open critical problems?"
- Ask for help: "How do I ship a release?" — it answers from these help articles and links to them.
- Ask it to act: create features, link items, or draft acceptance criteria. It confirms before it creates anything.
Each answer uses credits. See AI credits.

Question 32

Review with AI

Accepted Answer

Review with AI checks what's empty, out of date, inconsistent or unclear, and what links are missing. It's on features, solutions, releases, the product, and every library item (needs, KPIs, segments, problems, insights, competitors, research, dashboards, other items).
1. It shows how many credits it needs first. Nothing runs until you press Start review.
2. Empty fields are offered as fills, ticked by default.
3. Rewrites of text someone wrote are shown as Before / After, unticked by default.
4. Missing links — needs, evidence, solutions, quarters, releases, tasks and more. Tasks are linked as references, so nothing starts to look unready.
5. Also noticed lists problems no single suggestion fixes.
Nothing is saved until you accept. A rewrite is skipped if someone changed that text in the meantime. You're only charged if the review succeeds.
Hub modules (User impact, Business impact, Behaviour, Related items, Overview) run the same review, limited to what that module shows.
Several at once: select features or solutions in their list and choose Review with AI. While it reads them, Run in background lets you keep working; a small button bottom-right opens the suggestions when they're ready.
Library modules on the product page can review all their items, or Suggest new items (needs, KPIs and segments only) — each new item is created together with its link to a feature or solution.
You can also ask the assistant to "review this" — it opens the same screen.

Question 33

AI builder connection

Accepted Answer

An AI builder connection links Bonzaii to the tool you build with, such as Lovable, Cursor or Claude Code. Your tool can then read your product context and propose changes back.
- Products are Traditional or AI builder. AI builder products get publications and automatic Live statuses.
- The connection uses a key that you create in Bonzaii and paste into your tool. Keys are stored scrambled and can be revoked at any time.
- Changes proposed by your tool arrive as edit requests for you to approve. See Review edit requests.
Deleting a product or leaving a workspace revokes its keys.
The connection screen
Open Manage AI builder connection from the product to see five tabs:
- Overview: is the link working, when your builder last got in touch, anything waiting for you, and whether Bonzaii is in step with your last publication.
- Activity: builder calls over the past 90 days and the latest ones, with failures marked.
- Requests: every change your builder proposed (admins and Builders).
- Approval rules: auto-accept, or choose per item type.
- Settings: development mode, a new key, re-scan, and removing the connection.
Only workspace owners and admins can change auto-accept rules. Other teammates can see the rules with their controls greyed out; private connection keys remain hidden. Requests remain available only to admins and Builders.
An interrupted Product Set-up is offered only after checking the product's saved mapping and features. A product with finished mapping and existing features is not unfinished because old set-up progress remains in this browser. An active mapping update still offers its recovery flow.

Question 34

Connect an AI builder

Accepted Answer

1. Open the product and go to AI builder connection (also under Settings → AI builder connection).
2. Choose your tool and create a key. Copy it straight away; it's shown only once.
3. Paste it into your tool's connector settings, following the steps shown for that tool.
4. Back in Bonzaii, check the connection shows as connected.
Tip: ask the assistant "is my AI builder connected?" to check at any time.
Mapping your product
Once connected, set-up asks your builder for five hand-offs, each a prompt you paste into your builder:
1. Outline: the main areas and their main features.
2. Features: each area in depth, a few areas at a time.
3. Screens: every screen, tab, pop-up and side panel, what it sits inside, which screens it leads to and which features it shows, a few areas at a time. At the end Bonzaii lists any screen with no feature and gives you a prompt to fix them.
4. Criteria: how the important features behave.
5. Context: history, journeys, open tasks and improvements.
Keeping screen links up to date
After set-up, your builder can add or remove a link between two screens on the product map, for example when a new button leads from one screen to another. These changes appear in the builder's requests like any other map change, and follow your approval settings.

Question 35

Review edit requests

Accepted Answer

When your AI builder wants to change something in Bonzaii, it sends an edit request. They appear in Activity.
- Approve — apply the change.
- Reject — discard it.
- Accept with AI review — check it against your product first, then apply.
Admins can choose which kinds of change need approval in the product's AI builder settings.

Question 36

Team and access levels

Accepted Answer

Invite teammates from Settings → Workspaces. They accept from their email or from the banner when they sign in.
Access levels
- Builder — create and edit everything in the products they can see.
- Contributor — create and edit features, solutions, tasks and evidence. Can't delete products, manage members or settings, or change scores, strategy or release state. In AI builder products the structure (which features and screens exist) stays with the AI builder.
- Feedback only — add evidence and comments.
- Viewer — read only.
Admins can also manage members and settings. A person's job function (for example Design or Engineering) decides which task pools they see.
When someone leaves, their tasks go back to their job function's pool and their AI builder keys are revoked. Their name shows as "Former member".

Question 37

Working with tables

Accepted Answer

- Filters — narrow any table; on Features and Solutions the filters are kept in the page address so you can share them.
- Select many — tick rows to change status, link items, update scores or delete in one go.
- Merge — combine two or more items of the same type; links are moved across without duplicates.
- Columns — choose which columns show; your choice is remembered.
- Export — "Copy as Markdown" or "Export as CSV" from the export menu. Both follow your columns, filters and sort.

Question 38

Export your data

Accepted Answer

1. Go to Settings → Profile and find Download all my data.
2. Choose the whole workspace or one product.
3. Bonzaii prepares it in the background and emails you when it's ready.
The ZIP contains every list as a spreadsheet (CSV) and as JSON, plus your uploaded files and your personal details. The download link expires after a while; just start a new one.
For a single table, use the export menu instead. See Working with tables.

Question 39

Privacy and deleting your account

Accepted Answer

- Protection — data is encrypted in transit, and every workspace is kept separate from the others. See Settings → Privacy & Data and the Privacy note.
- Deleting your account — from Settings → Profile. Your personal details are erased; work you did in a shared workspace stays, credited to "Former member".
- Deleting a workspace — removes its products and data for everyone, and revokes AI builder keys.
Tip: export your data first if you want to keep a copy.
